As architects we have a responsibility to society

Architecture is measured against the past, you build in the present, and try to imagine the future.

Form follows profit is the aesthetic principle of our times.

My passion and great enjoyment for architecture, and the reason the older I get the more I enjoy it, is because I believe we - architects - can effect the quality of life of the people.

Technology cannot be an end in itself but must aim at solving long term social and ecological problems.

Architecture is about public space held by buildings.

The only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved.

I don't understand why everyone has to wear black, grey and white.

As an artist, what do you think the biggest mistake you can make is? My vote for the biggest mistake is being afraid of making mistakes.

But I reckon that this realm of higher needs, of something more than just forgetting about everyday life, of mere recreation, this realm of needs has been clearly neglected by us.

The fact that our heart yearns for something Earth can't supply is proof that Heaven must be our home.

The truth is, bad things don't affect us as profoundly as we expect them to. That's true of good things, too. We adapt very quickly to either.

Try not thinking of peeling an orange. Try not imagining the juice running down your fingers, the soft inner part of the peel. The smell. Try and you can't. The brain doesn't process negatives.

Ultimately, contentment is more a shift in attitude than a change in circumstances.

You're always being led to your highest good, as long as you have the courage to listen.

The most likely way for the world to be destroyed, most experts agree, is by accident. That's where we come in; we're computer professionals. We cause accidents.
