Sometimes there are those that have been dealt a bad hand at life and are dealing with some heavy issues. The least I can do is try to brighten a persons day.

I have loved music since I was a little kid. I was always wanted to write the music I hear in my head and have it be shared with the world.

My idols were Michael Jackson and The Beatles and I would watch Justin Timberlake and John Mayer perform and I knew I wanted to do what they were doing!

I wasn't sure how people were going to take to the stories I was telling and the things I wanted to sing about.

When I am excited about a song I want to release it rather than wait to build up an album.

I know as a fan of music I want my favorite artists to give me as much content and music as possible , so that is what I am trying to do.

It is nice to travel the world and sell records and meet fans and that is so much fun. But I want to always remember that music can heal and it can make someone's day.

Very little is needed to make a happy life

America should care more for its poor and reform itself in other ways but even if it won't do those things it remains the least constrained society on earth.

Things done well and with a care, exempt themselves from fear.

I have a lot of repression. So repression is what I make movies about.

It's the people who love us or hate us - or both - who hold together the thousands of fragments we are made of.

What would make it very difficult to take society back to a repressive time would be technology. The arrival of the Internet.

It was phenomenal to see what was going on there. I came away from there so energized about India, and I was pretty sure that [Narenda] Modi was going to win an election that wasn't easy to see.

I think that different actors bring different qualities to the character.

I like things that are civilized.
