My guiltiest pleasure is reading a novel with a glass of wine. I love to read voraciously. I always have. And I love to lose myself in a good book.

Honestly, I do spend most of my time between films trying to get the next one made.

One of my foolish qualities is to jump boldly, and then think about it later.

If I like a film, I usually appreciate the way it was made the first time.

I've come to really believe that I have something to offer as a filmmaker, that goes beyond what I had to offer as an actress and maybe this is what I'm meant to do.

As someone who tried to be great. I don't know if one ever gets to greatness, but I've put in a good effort, and will continue to do so.

I'm able to inspire other people, to see the potential of a career, they can look to me and see that they can do it.

If I was not a film-maker I'd probably be a musician. I like Kanye West, Jay-Z, R&B, classical, jazz and all kinds of music, but I'd say soulful World Music is my favorite.

So few want to be rebels anymore. And out of those few, most, like myself, scare easily.

The saddest realization I’ve had in my life is that my parents are people. Sad, human people. I aged a decade in that moment.

Ever since I was a child I've always been very attracted to melodies. Whether I hear Jeff Beck, a choir, an ocean or the wind, there's always a melody in there.

There is no harm in dreaming of becoming the world's best player. It is all about trying to be the best. I will keep working hard to achieve it but it is within my capabilities.

We see in meditation that our experiences are endless, that we are endless, eternal spirit, not as a thought or an idea you read in a book. You have the experience yourself, every day.

Respect yourself and others will follow suit. Most people will not treat you any better than you treat yourself.

Now, inventiveness and empathy, those qualities, if they're together in the same person, you've got an entrepreneurial genius. But they do tend to be slightly separate.

It takes more than some mind games, a couple of parlor tricks, to get under my skin.
