I was a typical farm boy. I liked the farm. I enjoyed the things that you do on a farm, go down to the drainage ditch and fish, and look at the crawfish and pick a little cotton.

The questions don't do the damage. Only the answers do.

If you sent me to cover a pie-baking contest on Mother's Day, I'm going to ask dear old Mom why she used artificial sweetener or stole the apples!

If you get clear on the what, the how will be taken care of.

Invest your life into what you were born to do.

If we give a hundred percent in whatever we do in life, practice one art form and pursue one sport, we eventually tend to evolve truly as ‘A Complete Man (or Woman)’.

The loss of enemies does not compensate for the loss of friends.

Comment threads are the new therapy for people. They just go and post the worst things they can think of because they feel bad, and then other people start attacking them, and then they attack back.

The habit of excellence can become enjoyably addictive.

To me the purpose of art is to produce something alive...but with a separate, and of course one hopes, with an everlasting life of its own.

Digression is the soul of wit.

We need to give people more of an incentive to work, to save, to invest, to create a true future for themselves.
