Growing up in Australia, you never feel like you're going to live beyond that place. You wake up and you go to the beach, and you do your homework. You're just a kid.

I think the most common cause of insomnia is simple; its loneliness.

If you make decisions based upon people's reactions or judgments then you make really boring choices.

If you are just safe about the choices you make, you don't grow.

I like to set up obstacles and defeat them.

And the thing about trying to cheat death is that, in the end, you still lose.

You cannot change a man . . . you can only change yourself.

But freedom starts with honesty. We aren’t doing ourselves any favors by defining our- selves as good and others as bad. Let’s just agree that we all need help, that we are all in this together.

The modern composer builds upon the foundation of truth.

We wish with our hands, that's what we do as artists.

And if I ever have any children of my own, no matter how unhappy I may be, I am not going to let them have any cares until they grow up.

I played baseball up until my freshman year of high school. That was my main sport. I played third base.

To walk on the road is a journey; to sit under the tree is a journey! Everything we do is a journey to somewhere!

Possibly the whole creative whirlwind of any musician's life is based on garnering and developing and absorbing more and more experience.
