Nothing risqué

Reading is a pleasurable paradise.

Today has been a day dropped out of June into April.

I am an arrogant and impatient listener, but in the case of a few composers, a very few, when I hear a work I do not like, I am convinced that it is my own fault. Verdi is one of those composers.

Rather be frumpy than vulgar! Much. Frumps are often celebrities in disguise -- but a person of vulgar appearance is vulgar all through.

The function of Art is to disturb. Science reassures.

I want to keep everyone happy but at the same time I also have to be confident with what I'm putting out and be secure with it.

At my age it is unseemly to be pessimistic.

It is important to remember that these are your Declining Years, in which you can jolly well decline to do what you don't feel like doing, unless not doing it would make you feel worse than doing it.

Your life will have chapters, complete with crazy characters, villains and a plot you can't even imagine as you sit here today. It's a lot like a Scooby Doo episode.

Everyone's story matters.
