My interest is in power. How power works.

At the ballet, you really feel like you're in the presence of something outside the rest of your life. Higher than the rest of your life.

I never wanted to do biography just to tell the life of a famous man. I always wanted to use the life of a man to examine political power, because democracy shapes our lives

Power doesn't always corrupt. Power can cleanse. What I believe is always true about power is that power always reveals.

Robert Moses wasn't elected to anything. We're taught that in a democracy power comes from being elected. He had more power than anyone, and he held it for 48 years

Don't wish to be normal. Wish to be yourself. To the hilt. Find out what you're best at, and develop it, and hopscotch your weaknesses. Wish to be great at whatever you are.

Where are you, oh heart, which I loved from the start? Did you ever arrive? How long must we stay apart?

And sometimes, even if everything seems unreala strange force will appeardragging you back the 'so called' real.

The great hope of society is in individual character.

There has to be a measure of faith. That's what this business is all about: trusting in something that may never show up, that you have no concrete proof of.

I think it's a reflection of the music business in general, which to me seems very fragmented.

There is so much that is fake about our society. My generation is craving something that is real, honest and true. The Message is straight up! It's modern, relevant, and direct.

Movements toward freedom and the self-respect that comes from something other than what people think is their most important feature.

Those people upstairs think that Karl Marx was somebody who wrote a good anti-trust law.
